Small Hand and Lotus Backflow Incense Burner

A glossy black hand holds a lotus flower up at the top of this small burner. Place a lit backflow cone on the flower. The smoke curls down around the fingers and wrist and settles at the base. At 9 cm tall it is one of our smallest burners, and a good first one to try.

It measures 9 cm tall, 7 cm wide and 7 cm deep, weighs about 165 g, and is made from resin and polyresin. Cones are sold separately. Use backflow cones only. Standard solid cones will burn, but their smoke rises instead of falling. You'll find them in our backflow incense cones collection.

Why does the smoke fall? A backflow cone has a hollow channel through its base. The smoke is drawn down through it, cools on the way and comes out heavier than the warm air around it, so it sinks. It flows best in still air. Keep it away from open windows, fans and radiators. If your smoke goes up instead, read why backflow incense might not be working.

Safety: burn on a flat, heat-proof surface. Never leave burning incense unattended. Keep it away from children, pets and anything that can catch fire, and keep the room ventilated.
