A cardboard tray of 6 tins from Elements Home Fragrance. Each tin holds 20 jumbo jasmine backflow cones, 120 cones in all. They are handmade in India using traditional methods and are vegan. The maker gives a burn time of about 40 minutes per jumbo cone.

Each tin measures about 10.2 cm tall and 7.1 cm across. The supplier lists the weight as 115 g. Light the tip of a cone, let it catch, blow out any flame and place it on your backflow incense burner. Read the directions on the pack before use.

How it works: smoke leaves the bottom of a hollow backflow cone, already cooled, and that cooler smoke sinks through the warmer room air. It looks best in a still room, away from fans, open windows and heaters. If the smoke rises, see why your backflow incense isn't working.

Safety: always stand it on a heat-proof surface, and never leave lit incense unattended. Keep it away from children and pets, and open a window or door so the room stays ventilated.
